Las Vegas Accident Near UNLV Claims 82nd Traffic Related Death in 2008

A pickup truck struck an SUV early Thursday morning killing the 16-year-old driver of the SUV.  According to police reports, the deceased driver failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Reno and Eastern Avenue and was T-boned by the 30-year-old driver of the Ford Ranger Pickup, Walon Wilcox of Las Vegas Nevada.

The SUV flipped ejecting the 16-year-old to his death; a second passenger was believed to be riding in the vehicle fled the scene after the accident according to the Las Vegas Police Department.  This marks the 82nd traffic fatality in the Metro jurisdiction this year.  Police are still looking for the passenger, and anyone with knowledge of the accident is instructed to contact Crimestoppers at 702-385-5555.
