Two Reno Automobile Accidents Result In Two Deaths

The death of a Reno woman from domestic violence was solved by police due to a Reno automobile accident. the woman who died was Reno resident Angelica Hood, 23. Ms. Wood’s Husband, 32-year old, Dempsey Hood of Reno, was placed in Reno jail in the incident. Mr. Hood’s charges are assaulting a protected person, domestic battery and battery causing harm. Police were called to the scene of a Washoe County car crash at Sun Valley Blvd and Highland Ranch Pkwy. The driver in the accident was on foot when police tracked him down. At the same time, police had gone to the couple’s address in response to a call about an injured woman. The call was just after 10 a.m. on Saturday on Centennial Wy. Police quickly tied the two incidents together.

 

Mrs. Hood was rushed to a local Reno hospital after the assault but later died from her wounds. In addition to the charges Mr. Hood faces in his wife’s death, he is also charged with not stopping at an accident, resisting arrest, and reckless driving.

 

A Reno man, 27, died on Friday July 31st in an accident in the vicinity of Virginia Lake. The mzan, Alejandro Sandoval was rushed to Renown Hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries. The accident happened at Watt St. and Country Club Dr. It occurred around 8 a.m. on the 31st. The accident happened when Stephen Christie, 27, ran a stop sign. Mr. Christie is not cooperating with police and was arrested by police for outstanding warrants and is currently in the jail of Washoe County.
