The accident in question occurred Sunday in the very early hours of the day, around 3am. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a vehicle, said to be a blue Nissan Altima driven by a 34 year old Carson City man, was driving the wrong way, that is, in the driving eastbound in the westbound traffic lanes. It struck another vehicle head on. The vehicle that was struck was reported to be a white Ford Taurus, which was then engulfed in a fireball caused by this terrible accident. The driver of that vehicle was killed in this car accident near Carson City, Nevada. A female passenger in the Nissan also was killed, and pronounced dead there at the site of the crash. The man who allegedly caused the accident was brought on a medevac flight to a hospital in Reno after being injured critically himself. The accident caused the freeway, US-50, to be closed for close to six hours that morning. It is believed that a DUI in Nevada was likely the cause of this terrible accident.
