The accidents that sound the most horrific are sometimes not the ones that cause critical injuries. For instance, imagine someone described this Northern Nevada vehicle accident to you: a small car, say a Saturn two door, hits a semi tractor-trailer, a big one over 50 feet long. The Saturn comes to rest, after the accident, fully beneath the truck. What types of injuries would you expect? This sounds almost like a case where you’d have to fear the worst: critical injuries, loss of mobility or even loss of life. Fortunately, a car crash near Reno had this exact scenario play out, and the woman driving the silver Saturn, an 18 year old from Fernley, Nevada, was only treated for minor injuries. The 35 year old man who was driving the trailer was uninjured. He is from Portland, though no word in news accounts of the crash if that was where the truck was from, or based out of.
This woman is fortunate to have escaped with so little damage and injury in this motor vehicle accident in Nevada. But though she is said to have not been seriously injured, that doesn’t mean she won’t have medical bills that stack up, and loss of income due to time and physical therapy needed to get back to full functioning. Perhaps her injuries, though not life threatening, will permanently affect her life, both her personal activities and her earning potential. While the highway patrol is still investigating the crash, one thing is for sure, and clear to anyone who has ever faced a situation like this: she needs a lawyer.

A motorcycle accident in Carson City has claimed the lives of the two people who were on the motorcycle, according to recent reports of the accident. One of them passed away this last Sunday after being on life support, the other, a 21 year old female and resident of South Lake Tahoe, died last Wednesday. She was a passenger on the motorcycle, a Suzuki, driven by the 21 year old male who passed away Sunday. He had been on life support, and then was placed back on life support. The reason for this was that his organs were giving out off of the life support system, and the young man’s wishes were to donate his organs. He was placed back on so that that could be completed, and then removed again from life support and allowed to pass away. He had been there since the Carson City motorcycle accident on March 22nd. The incident occurred a little before 11 in the evening, where Fairview and Roop meet. The bike the young man was driving hit a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup, a 60 year old man from Gardnerville, was not injured in the accident.
Little is known about the young woman who passed, at least according to recent stories on this fatal motorcycle accident in Northern Nevada. The young man was a University of Nevada, Reno, student, and a member of the school’s band. A tenor sax player, he had been with the marching band for coming up on two years, according to the leader of the band. Little else is known, or at least being reported, about the accident. We don’t know if it was a case of driving under the influence or speeding in Nevada, nor do we have an inkling yet of who might be at fault. The Nevada Highway Patrol is continuing to look for answers.

Thankfully, no children were seriously injured in a recent school bus accident in Reno just a couple of days ago. The accident happened near Avenida de Landa on Sharlands Avenue in Northwest Reno, a little before 2:30 in the afternoon last Friday. A whopping 58 people were on the bus when it happened. Early reports were that a vehicle struck the back wheel of the bus. There were no initial reports of damage to the school bus, and minimal damage to the vehicle, though it did lose its front bumper. No injuries were immediately evident in this school bus accident in Washoe County, though medical and emergency personnel did check out all the children to verify. And of course, police investigators were sent to the scene, both from the county school district police and local police as well.
Unfortunately, it may be some time before this is sorted out entirely. Slow speed accidents that don’t cause any immediate or immediately visible injuries can have lasting effects on people due to the possibility of spinal or neck injuries that take some time to manifest and cause pain. Hopefully none of these children have such injuries, nor does that driver of the school bus, counted in the 58 total on board, nor does the driver or any passengers in the vehicle which hit the school bus and lost its bumper in the accident. However, if any of these people involved in this school bus accident in Northern Nevada were to develop pain and injury symptoms later, they would need a good lawyer to represent them.
