It is not always easy to determine the cause of an accident in Northern Nevada from a news report. It isn’t always easy to determine the cause of an accident as one of the parties in an accident either, especially when there are multiple parties involved and one accident may be secondary to another, which is in turn caused by a third or fourth party. Such was potentially the case in a rear end auto accident in Gardnerville, Nevada recently, in a multiple vehicle car accident which left one person dead. This recent example of a difficult to parse accident began with two vehicles headed south on Palomino Lane, quite close to the intersection of Riverview. A little before noon on July the 18th, a Ford Taurus was purportedly attempting to make a left turn when it is said to have been struck by a black truck, a Dodge of some variety. The Taurus was pulling into a place of business when it was rear ended in this fatal accident in Gardnerville. After being struck by the black pickup, the Ford was struck by yet another Dodge truck, this one a silver one, who was heading in the opposite direction. Eight people were said to have been involved in the accident, with at least four people taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, in addition to the one who was fatally injured.
